Best Fragrance – Sisley Trio
Monday, April 13th, 2009
Launching this spring, the Eau de Sisley trio are numbered from 1 to 3, and contain similar ingredients but blended in different strengths. They are all beautifully subtle and delicate, and will appeal to those of you that like to wear your perfume rather than be worn by it.
Price: £90.00 each
Liberty has the best selection of unusual, individual and modern fragrances in London, and has recently opened an instore perfume “lab” where you can have a fragrance mixed by hand while youwait. Alternatively, choose one of the 10 “off the peg” fragrances from Fleur d’Oranger to Patchouli, although the subtle Vetiver 46 is definitely my favourite.
Shalimar is an Oriental fragrance and was first conceived by the Guerlain brothers, Pierre and Jacques, in 1925. It is spicy and warm and contains notes of sandalwood, iris and amber that linger seductively in the air. And although inspired by a 300-year old Indian tale of unrequited love, this still feels relevant today. Also available in a limited-edition lighter version – Eau de Shalimar.
This diminutive glass bottle is topped with a stunning, polished ceramic top that alludes to its name – China White. Available exclusively from Space NK, this is a very grown-up fragrance that instils a sense of warmth and calm when you wear it, and becomes very comforting after a few hours. It is suitably discreet and could be worn by either sex.
This stunning bottle is embedded with semi precious gems that hint at the exclusivity of Estée Lauder’s Private Collection, of which Amber Ylang Ylang is a part. It smells deliciously of marzipan due to the inclusion of vanilla, while sandalwood and amber ensures that it remains just the right side of sweet. A beautiful scent that you will want to keep.
